Erin grew up in Pittsburgh and is a graduate of Pittsburgh Public Schools. She has a Master's degree in Sociology and Equity Studies in Education from the University of Toronto and is a PhD student in Learning Sciences and Policy at the University of Pittsburgh. Erin co-founded the PGH Zine Fair in 2011 and is a founding DJ with YASS QUEEN dance party since 2016.
She is also the co-founder and director of Prototype Pittsburgh, a feminist makerspace where we teach women how to use high tech tools and equipment.
Our mission is to build gender and racial equity in tech and entrepreneurship by providing affordable access to high-tech tools and equipment, offering workshops that prioritize the experiences of women, and cultivating a gender-inclusive professional support network.
